The Academy of St. Benedict the African believes that a Catholic
Christian education aims to develop the total child, spiritually, socially,
intellectually, emotionally and physically. To support a student’s entire
development, the Academy adopts several role models, parents,
teachers, religious leaders and friends. Additionally, our curriculum is
designed to:
1. Enhance positive self concepts in every student
2. Teach the essential skills of critical thinking and self direction that are
necessary for productive contributors to our society
3. Incorporate aspects of Christian values
4. Foster parent involvement through constant interaction of the
student’s development and progress
Our school is certified by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Catholic Schools, and our preschool is NAEYC accredited.
