We believe that students should participate in the learning process appropriate to their levels of development. Students are responsible for their own behavior and must show respect to the school community. The Academy of St. Benedict the African endeavors to educate all students within the limits of the school’s educational program.
Detention
Possession of and chewing of gum in the school building
- Possession of/ eating of food outside the lunch period
- Littering of school building or campus grounds
- Roaming through halls and stairways
- Throwing of snowballs, rocks, etc.
- Being on the premises at unauthorized times
- Leaving the building or property without authorization
- Talking or pushing during fire/ tornado drills
- Habitual tardiness
- Any other conduct deemed inappropriate
Violation of the following could constitute suspension:
- Disrespect to teachers or other staff members
- Harassment, bullying, intimidation, coercion, force, or threats of other students (verbal or written)
- Arguing, fighting, swearing, or creating a disturbance
- Theft and vandalism
- Truancy
- Throwing of snowballs, rocks, etc.
- Leaving the building or property without authorization
- Other inappropriate conduct
