Early Release of Child from School

Before an individual student can be dismissed early from school, she/ he must present a written request from his parents/ guardian stating the reason, time and person to whom she/he is to be released. The school suggests that medical and dental appointments be scheduled after hours if at all possible. Students may be dismissed only from the school office. Students may never leave school directly from a classroom. Early dismissal forms will be used from the office. Any child leaving school early must be accompanied by an adult.

Standardized Testing

The Academy uses the Archdiocese of Chicago approved testing program. Testing generally occurs during the spring of the year.

Scheduled Conferences

Teachers are ordinarily available 15 minutes before the first bell and 30 minutes after a regular school day, to discuss concerns with parents as they arise. To ensure that concerns are properly handled, conferences should be scheduled between parents and teachers IN ADVANCE at mutually acceptable times.

Parent- Student- Teacher Conferences/ Report Card Pick-Up

Conferences will be scheduled three times a year.  Refer to the calendar for the specific dates.  Teachers or parents, as necessary, will schedule additional conferences.  If a parent fails to attend the Fall, Winter, and Spring conferences, the child may be suspended until the parent makes arrangements to meet with the teacher and pick up the report card.

Summer school/ Retention/ Special Testing Decisions

The decision to retain is made on a case-by-case basis. Parents shall be notified that this possibility exists no later than the end of the second quarter. Notices will be sent home during the final quarter of the term.  The school maintains the right of retention after consultation with parents.
